SV Macintosh Consulting is now (once again) offering remote services to current clients. We now have pre-configured software for you to download that will allow remote screen sharing/ 'driving' of remote computers. The software is pre-configured, all you have to do is download and launch the software called SV Remote Support. Here are the steps:

1. Click here to download the user client of Share from User, configured for SV Remote Support.

2. You should find the support application in your Downloads folder or on your Desktop. Placement in the Applications folder is recommended, but not necessary. Once in the Applications folder, or wherever you choose, double-click the SV Remote Support Application.

3. Launch the SV Remote Support.app. Click the agreement checkbox, type in your name. If I am in the office, I will start controlling your screen*. If I am not in the office, the application will send me an email to my cell phone alerting me that assistance is needed. If I cannot get to a computer to assist you, I will notify you and give you a time that I am available.

4.When we are finished, you can click the Disconnect button and quit the support application.

Pricing of remote screen sharing is the same as our hourly rate of $60 per hour. The main difference is remote screen sharing can be split into twenty minute increments.

You will then be sent an invoice from which you can pay .

*Note: You will see a dialog box requesting permission for your screen to be controlled. Remember, for security, only you can allow me or anyone else to control your screen. Screen Sharing or 'driving' is not a practical solution for diagnostics. If you suspect hard drive issues, a home or visit will need to be scheduled.
